Album Review: Taylor Swift – Lover

Hello and happy Friday!

I know you all are wondering about my thoughts on the new #TSwizzle album that dropped last night, but fret not, I’ll feed you baby birdies.

Album: Lover
Artist: Taylor Swift
Track Listing (best tracks in bold):

  1. I Forgot that You Existed: A nice lil bop, as the kids say…
  2. Cruel Summer: I dig it, but feels like it should be someone else singing it, feels like a Katy Perry or someone else song…
  3. Lover: Taylor does Lana Del Rey except happier… and I like me some LDR, like a lot.
  4. The Man: This is my jam.
  5. The Archer: Let’s all get in touch with our inner True Colors and let them shine through, like now, because it feels so good…
  6. I Think He Knows: Meh, I’d rather listen to BLACKPINK cover this song…
  7. Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince: This is pretty great except for the “Ohhkaaay!” In the background, hard pass on the cheerleader background singers…
  8. Paper Rings: This one is fun!
  9. Cornelia Street: Not bad at all, but not my fave.. above-average…
  10. Death by a Thousand Cuts: This is the #TSwizzle we know and love…
  11. London Boy: Nothing wrong with this one, but not my fave…
  12. Soon You’ll Get Better: Yes!  Please!  More!!!  Not possible to go wrong with the Dixie Chicks.
  13. False God: Taylor meets smooth jazz meets chill step… I wish there was a different producer/DJ mixing this one, it’s ok, but could be better…
  14. You Need to Calm Down: Typical Tay …
  15. Afterglow: I like this one more than a little…
  16. ME!: It’s fine, nbd, sounds like a TS song… how tf is this the lead single though?!?
  17. It’s Nice to Have a Friend: This one sounds like her friend was Ingrid Michaelson…
  18. Daylight: This is probably my favorite song start to finish on the album…
